Avery Morrison is the director at Anchor Counseling, PLLC. She  earned her Master's degree at the University of Mississippi in 2008. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor and National Certified Counselor. She is also trained in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). She has provided individual, family, and group counseling in various mental health settings including community mental health, inpatient crisis, and elementary school settings. She moved to the Hampton Roads area with her family in 2013. She worked as a military counselor with the Virginia Beach Public Schools for several years before joining the Center for Advanced Psychological services in 2017. In 2018, she opened Anchor Counseling, PLLC and has been providing therapeutic services to the Hampton Roads Community ever since. 

Avery is married to a US Navy service member and they have 2 children. She enjoys spending her free time on the sideline of a basketball court or a soccer field.
